Thomas S. Bain Obituary

Thomas Stephen Bain, 78, of York, PA, passed away peacefully at home the morning of April 19, 2025. Born on August 3, 1946, in Leaksville, North Carolina, Tom was the beloved son of the late Murray and Phyllis Bain.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Tom is survived by his loving wife, Diane Bain (Daryman), with whom he recently celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a family grounded in love, laughter, and resilience.

Tom leaves behind four children who meant the world to him: Corey Bain, Tassie Bain, Tommy Bain and his wife Julie, and Amy and her husband Bruce Graybill.  He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy. He also leaves behind many cherished siblings: Catherine and her husband Donnie Hess, Sandra Laws, Cindy Bain, David Bain, Kathleen Kerns, Denise Sharma, and John Robert Bain.  He was preceded in death by his sister Donna Baur.

Lovingly known as “the cable guy,” Tom was an extremely hard worker, known for his generosity, dependability, and tireless work ethic. He would give anyone the shirt off his back without a second thought. He began his illustrious career in the cable industry with Cable TV, continuing on with Suscom, and ultimately retiring from Comcast after 38 years of dedicated service. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way.

Tom will be remembered for his warmth, steady presence, and the deep care he showed to everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he nurtured with pride and devotion.

A visitation in memory of Tom will be held on April 26 at 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 1:30 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 2601 Bannister Street in York, PA.
