Thomas R. Strausbaugh

Thomas R. Strausbaugh, age 81, of West Manchester Township, York, passed Wednesday, March 22, 2023, surrounded by his family, at UPMC Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Dolly A. (Madison) Edwards.

Born October 13, 1941, in York, he was a son of the late Earl R. and Helyn V. (Kadilak) Strausbaugh. After graduating from high school, Tom entered the US Army, as a helicopter crew chief, serving in South Korea. He was retired from AMP, Inc., where he worked as a packaging buyer. He was a member of West York VFW Post #8951, the B D Social Club, South End Club, and Ninth Ward Republican Club. Some of Tom’s favorite hobbies were golfing, gambling and hunting; one of Tom’s proudest achievements was taking out one of the largest grizzlies in the Yukon.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Strausbaugh is survived by his children, Beverly A. Barnette, and her husband Brian, of Orlando, Florida, Chellani A. Strausbaugh, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, David C. Edwards, of North Carolina, Jamie A. Croce, and her husband John, of Deptford, New Jersey, Shae K. Ward, of York, and Olivia E. Warner, and her husband Robert, of York; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren (with two more on the way); and a sister, Nancy Knaub, and her husband Eugene, of Shrewsbury, nephews; Gregory Butschky of Shrewbury and Jeffrey Butschky of Baldwin, Maryland. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Strausbaugh.

Services and burial will be private. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 2150 Carlisle Road, York, is in charge of arrangements.

A celebration of life for friends and family will be held on June 3, 2023, from 1pm-3pm, at the West York VFW 1800 Andrew Street, York.
