Thomas L. “Sonny” Updegraff, age 84, of Newberry Township, Etters, passed away at 1:20 PM Monday, February 3, 2025, at Carolyn’s Hospice House in Harrisburg. He was the husband of Sherry E. (Dolan) Updegraff.

Born September 2, 1940, in York County, he was a son of the late Glenn Updegraff, Sr. and the late Lucy L. (Sipe) Updegraff. He was the owner of Tom’s Paint and Body Shop in Etters for 38 years, which now continues under his son’s ownership. He also owned T&S Corvette Sales (used car dealer) for many years. He was meticulous in his appearance, as well as maintaining his vehicles, and cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.  He was a member of the Wago Club, Goldsboro Fireman’s Club, VFW Post #537 Auxiliary.

In addition to his wife of 56 years, Mr. Updegraff is survived by a daughter, Lynne M. Updegraff (Clint Harro), of Dover; a son, Todd E. Updegraff (Tonya), of Etters; three grandchildren, Samantha, Becca, and Dylan Updegraff; three brothers, Glenn Updegraff, Jr., of York Haven, Rodger Updegraff, of Etters, and Anthony Updegraff, of York Haven; and a sister, Leona “Toots” Markley, of Etters. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy “Dimps” Cook and Grace “Babe” Richcreek.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Paddletown Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, 355 Church Road, Newberrytown, with Pastor Ryan Whisel officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM. Private burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
