Vestine L. McCandless, age 76, of Paradise Township, Thomasville, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 6:37 PM, surrounded by her family, at UPMC Memorial Hospital. She was the loving wife of Terry L. McCandless, Sr. Together they shared over 57 years of marriage.

Vestine was born in Mount Wolf on February 13, 1949, a daughter of the late Naomi (Nace) and Charles H. Miller, Jr. She enjoyed planting flowers, going to Ocean City, Maryland and taking care of people. She graduated from Spring Grove High School Class of 1967 and worked at LG Chip factory and Hoss’s Steak and Sea House.

In addition to her husband Terry, Vestine is survived by her sons, Terry McCandless, Jr., and wife Jen, of Thomasville, Christopher McCandless, of Thomasville; her daughter, Monica Gross, and husband Scott, of Dover; four grandchildren, Michael, Cadence, Josh, and Amy; a great grandchild, Ashlynn; her brother, William E. Miller; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Charles Miller, III, and Edward E. Miller; sister, Delphine Blalock; and sister-in-law, Vickie Miller.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her loving family.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday September 19, 2025, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, with Pastor James Dinger officiating. Viewing will be from 9:00-10:00 AM. Burial will be in Christ Roth Lutheran Church Cemetery, Spring Grove.
