William E. Little Obituary

William E. Little, age 96, of Manchester Township, York, died Friday, March 6, 2026, at Pappus House in Thomasville. He was the husband of the late Ruth C. (Jones) Little.


Born March 25, 1929, in West York, he was a son of the late Lester W. and Maggie J. (Bentzel) Little. He was a graduate of West York High School, and then was drafted into the US Army, serving in Korea for two years. After serving in the Army he earned his degrees from York Junior College, and Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, working at McCabe Brothers Funeral Home during that time. He began his professional career at Fred Groff Funeral Home in Lancaster, and then Max Anstine Funeral Home in West York before opening his own Funeral Home on Linden Avenue in 1960. In 1969 he acquired A. Zeigler Son Funeral Home in Manchester, where he also volunteered for the fire company and ambulance service. In 1996 he joined the Kuhner Funeral Homes, Cemeteries, and Crematory, actively working in the firms until the time of his illness and successfully completing his Continuing Education for licensure in January. He was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church, in Manchester, and was a life member of West York VFW Post 8951, and a former member of the Zion’s View Lions Club.


Mr. Little is survived by his daughter, Laura J. Weyant, of York; two nephews, Brian W. Little, and his wife Charity, of Florida, and Eric D. Little, and his wife Shilla, of York; and their children Kennedy, Sydney and Drake. He was also preceded in death by his brother, David M. Little.


Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 AM Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, 4360 Board Road, Manchester, with his Pastor, The Rev. Tammy Blose officiating, and long-time friend, Rev. Bonnie Whittier, participating. Viewing will be 9:30-10:30 AM, with flag presentation by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Private burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
