William H. Evans, age 76, of West Manchester Township, York, died at 11:20 AM Friday, April 25, 2025, at UPMC Memorial. He was the husband of Lynn M. (Golden) Evans.

Born April 26, 1948, in York, he was a son of the late Walter and Sadie (Zeller) Evans.  He was a graduate of William Penn High School and then served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He was a recipient of the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.  He worked for many years for Stroman’s Bakery, and its successors, and had also worked for Hostess and Wonder. He was a member of White Rose VFW Post #556.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Evans is survived by a son, Colby W. Evans, and his wife Katina, of York; a daughter, Dawn R. Brown, and her husband Robert, of York; five grandchildren, Colby, Jr., Kara, Megan, Jared, and Marissa; and four great grandchildren, Riyalyn, Aleyna, Colton, and Lillian. He was also preceded in death by four siblings, Jane, Chris, Pat, and Jackie.

Workinger Semel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, are in charge of private funeral arrangements.
