William F. Stover, of Manchester Township, York, died at 12:15 PM Sunday, April 10, 2022, at his residence. He was the husband of Martha (Palmer) Stover, and the late Lavenia (Grim) Stover, and former spouse of the late Phyllis Stover.
Born November 18, 1929, in Manchester Township, a son of the late William H and Beulah (Butcher) Stover, he was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He had worked for many years as an auto body Mechanic at the former Amon R. Smith Automotive, and as a supervisor for Sidomatic. More recently he worked part time for Printing Express and BAPS Auto Paints and Supply. He was a member of Ashbury United Methodist Church, York Antique Car Club, and the York Area Radio Control Club.
Mr. Stover is survived by two sons, Thomas G. Stover (Gay), of Jacobus, and John Ankeny, of Indianapolis, Indiana; three daughters, Shirley Taylor, of York, Kristen Balko, of York, and Joanne Grove (James), of Tucson, Arizona; a stepdaughter, Judith A. Troup, of Emigsville; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Norma A. Buck, of York.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc. 863 South George Street, York, with The Rev. Don Slaybaugh, officiating. The family respectfully requests that masks be worn. Viewings will be 6-7:00 Tuesday and 1-2:00 PM Wednesday. Private burial will be in Salem Union Cemetery, Jacobus.
